Our Story
The Skin Counter is a Dutch beauty store founded by Lilian Brussen. Her journey into Korean skincare began during her youth when her Seoul-native roommates introduced her to the world of Korean beauty products. Struggling with sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and allergies to common additives like parabens, fragrances, and sulfates, Lilian found solace in Asian skincare. The gentle formulations helped calm and improve her skin, reducing the need for heavy makeup. This personal transformation ignited her ambition to bring only the most effective and skin-friendly Korean and Japanese skincare products to the Western market, offering people the same high-performance solutions that transformed her own skin.
