What is the difference between Korean and Western skincare?
Unlike Western skincare, which primarily focuses on fighting aging, K-beauty is about having a dialogue with your skin and listening to its needs with a holistic approach. The priority of K-beauty is to maintain a healthy skin barrier, while Western beauty focuses on problem-solving.

With K-beauty, it's all about applying thin layers of active ingredients to achieve a hydrated, radiant skin while also preventing damage from environmental factors, pollution, and harmful UV rays. K-beauty focuses on soothing and nourishing the skin and ensuring that it is well-hydrated, radiant, and protected. In contrast to Western beauty, which focuses on exfoliating to reveal a new layer of skin, K-beauty is about replenishing nutrients into the skin.

K-beauty takes a gentler approach with less emphasis on scrubs, retinols, and aggressive acids. Each product in a Korean beauty routine has a specific purpose and is designed to be applied to the skin gently by tapping, patting, or massaging.

What is the 10-step Korean skincare routine?
The 10-step Korean skincare routine includes the following steps: oil-based cleanser, water-based cleanser, exfoliator, toner, essence, serum, sheet mask, eye cream, moisturizer, and sunscreen. What is a K-beauty product?
K-beauty is short for Korean beauty, and refers to skincare and makeup products that are made in Korea or follow Korean beauty trends and techniques. K-beauty products are known for their innovative and often natural ingredients, and are becoming increasingly popular worldwide.

What is a Korean sheet mask?
A Korean sheet mask is a sheet of fabric or paper that is soaked in a serum or essence, which is then applied to the face. Sheet masks are designed to provide a hydrating and nourishing treatment for the skin, and are often used as part of the Korean skincare routine.

How long will it take before I get my order?
It depends on where you are. Orders processed for the Netherlands will take 1-3 business days to arrive. The rest of Europe will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

Where do you ship to?
All over Europe and to the UK.

Is shipping free?

This depends on the Country you are ordering from and the order amount. In The Netherlands shipping is free above €50,-, Belgium and Germany is free above €120,- and other countries you can find here.

Why don’t you ship worldwide?
We are working on it and hope to expand our shipping reach in the near future.

Will Brexit affect the prices of The Skin Counter products?
Due to Brexit, additional customs fees, duties and clearance costs might be applicable and charged to you upon delivery, this only concerns all orders with a total order value of £135, approximately €150 (depending on the exchange rate). Duties, customs fees and clearance costs are not included in our product prices.

Are there products that can't be returned?
Yes, there are some products that are excluded from the return policy. We do not accept returns for products that are sanitary goods such as our beauty tools.

Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept the following payment methods:

Other credit cards are not accepted but can possibly be added to a PayPal account after which you can then pay your order on our website using PayPal.

In what currency can I pay my order?
If you are purchasing from our website, all payments will be handled in Euros. 

Will I have to pay import duties?
There is a possibility that you might have to pay import duties depending on the custom laws of the delivery country. Please advise our Shipping policy page for more details.

What can I do if my payment has failed?
There may be several reasons for why payment for an order has failed. Please reach out to our Customer Experience team by emailing info@theskincounter.com and we will help you.

Where can I find my invoices?
You receive an order summary in your order confirmation email after you have placed an order. You can also find your order history in your The Skin Counter account.

What is VAT?
VAT is Value Added Tax, which are the taxes paid on top of the value from the sale of products or services.
Both customers inside and outside the EU pay VAT on their purchases.

How long does it take to receive my refund?
Depending on your bank account account it may take up to 14 days to receive your refund. You will receive the payment back on the account that you also paid from.
